چکیده

浦川 紀元 In the course of a systematic study on the constituents of amphibian skin active on vascular and extravascular plain muscle it soon became manifest that the skin of amphibians could represent an enormous store-house not only of biogenic amines (imida zole-, indole and phenyl-alkylamines) but also of highly active polypeptides. The most extensive investigation on this topic has so far been carried out on South-American amphibian species (1-9). The present paper represents a first report of a more complete study we are planning to carry out on Asian amphibians.

Active Polypeptides of the Amphibian Skin and Their Synthetic Analogues

Amphibian skin represents an enormous store-house of biogenic amines and active peptides. So far four groups of peptides have been identified: (a) physalaemin-like peptides (physalaemin, phyllomedusin and uperolein) possessing an intense action on vascular and extravascular smooth muscle as well as a potent action on lachrymal and salivary glands. Physalaemin is the most potent hypotensive agen...

Effect of Monoamine Oxidase Inhibitor on Developmental Mechanism in the Amphibian.

大鹿 英世 ・中井 健五 Accumulating evidence indicates that monoamine oxidase (MAO, 1.4.3.4) is essential to the metabolism of serotonin and catecholamines. Since these amines are substances of high biological activity and have been implicated in autonomic function, it becomes of great interest to see whether foetal or embryonic development is closely related to the metabolism of these biogenic amines. T...

Biogenic amines in sea products

Sea food products are being processed through various techniques, i.e. chilling and freezing, heating, irradiating, and curing; regard to the condition of processing, formation of biogenic amines are probable, as raw materials are usually rich in respective precursors. Fermented fish products are among the most vulnerable items to this challenge, these products due to their nutritious value are...

Biogenic amines determination in some traditional cheeses in West Azerbaijan province of Iran

Biogenic amines (BA) are nitrogenous compounds that possess biological activity. The source of production is the microbial decarboxylation of amino acids. This compounds are found in various types of cheese. The aim of this work was to evaluate the BA content of some traditional cheeses in West Azerbaijan province Iran. For this purpose, 70 samples of Koopeh, 10 samples of Lighvan and 5 samples...
